Aerial Photography (color, black & white, color infra red) We utilize a CompAIR 7, jet prop aircraft specifically designed for acquiring aerial photography in the rugged Alaskan conditions. This aircraft is significantly more reliable than the older vintage piston powered aircraft that are currently prevalent through out the industry. This aircraft is equipped with a National Aerial Photography Program (NAPP) specified Leica RC30 6” focal length camera.
This Leica RC30 camera (lens serial number 13334) maintains a current USGS calibration indicating an area weighted average resolution (AWAR) of 113 line pairs/mm. It is equipped with a gyro-stabilized mount and Forward Motion Compensation (FMC). A state-of-the-art aerial survey system by Track’Air is utilized that integrates job layout, flight planning and airborne functions. Coupled with a Airborne GPS receiver, the system provides online navigation, precise camera triggering/photo alignment, film edge annotation and Airborne GPS.
Photogrammetry Aerial Triangulation
Kodiak Mapping, Inc. utilizes the proven method of combining ground control, Airborne GPS, and Analytical Aerial Triangulation to control photogrammetric projects. This approach consistently produces accuracies not achievable by alternate methods.
Photogrammetric Digital Mapping Digital mapping is accomplished with Zeiss P1 (IMA) fully analytical, DAT_EM Summit Evolution Soft Copy digital workstation and Kern PG2 stereo plotters. Stringent quality control measures ensure final mapping products of superior quality.
Digital Orthophotos
Our orthophoto process begins with scanning imagery utilizing a Wehrli & Associates RM-2 photogrammetric scanner. The images are processed with PCI Geomatica Ortho Engine software. Kodiak Mapping, Inc. takes special interest in our clients needs pertaining to final deliverable products.
